Dos and Don'ts


  • Notify the Qatari Mission approved in the host State with your presence and your companions and how to contact you if necessary.
  • If you face any problem, you should notify the Embassy of the State of Qatar and inform the Embassy officials with the subject of your problem ASAP.
  • Keep phone numbers of the Embassy of the State of Qatar for reference if necessary.
  • You must adhere to traffic regulations and rules and, in any case, must not drive the car without a valid license, in addition to avoidance of parking at prohibited places and abiding by the legal speed limit.
  • There are severe penalties for driving the car under the effect of alcoholic beverages and other drugs.
  • Keep the official documents like passport or air ticket and valuable personal articles in a safe place.
  • You should keep a photocopy of passport number for reference when you come back to the Mission if you have lost your passport.
  • Do not carry large cash amounts and valuable articles while you are moving, and replace them with your credit card.
  • Notify the bank immediately when you lose your credit card or you think it has been stolen in order for the bank be able to prevent any other person from using it, taking into consideration that some banks impose fees in case you do not immediately notify them as such.
  • Stay aware of those who are around you while you are using the ATM and wait until you totally finish your dealing.
  • You should get an invoice when you purchase any commodity or service.
  • You should respect the public order, morals, culture, privacy, customs and traditions.
  • Make sure that your passport is valid for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Do not mortgage your passport or ID card with any authority for any reason.
  • Make sure always that car doors and windows are closed.
  • Do not leave your luggage before others as they may attract thieves attention, either they are CD player, bag, coat …etc.
